O evento, viabilizado com o patroc\u00ednio da Votorantim e da CNI \u2013 Confedera\u00e7\u00e3o Nacional da Ind\u00fastria, foi parte das atividades da 17\u00b0 Semana do Meio Ambiente, promovido pela FIESP\u00a0 que ocorreu de 09 \u00e0 12 de junho de 2015.<\/p>\n<p>O workshop reuniu lideran\u00e7as do setor privado, representantes do governo, acad\u00eamicos e organiza\u00e7\u00f5es n\u00e3o governamentais para debater e dividir experi\u00eancias a respeito das estrat\u00e9gias adotadas para o combate as mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas, a conserva\u00e7\u00e3o dos servi\u00e7os ecossist\u00eamicos, a promo\u00e7\u00e3o da agenda de sustentabilidade e a manuten\u00e7\u00e3o do capital natural.<\/p>\n<p>Entre os palestrantes convidados estiveram presentes renomados experts como:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Antonio Carlos Costa \u2013 FIESP<\/li>\n<li>C\u00e9sar Costa \u2013 Gr\u00e1fica e Editora Posigraf<\/li>\n<li>C\u00e9sar Favero \u2013 Fazenda Kayap\u00f3<\/li>\n<li>Cl\u00f3vis Borges \u2013 Instituto LIFE<\/li>\n<li>David Canassa \u2013 Votoratim<\/li>\n<li>Eduardo Giacomazzi \u2013 FIESP<\/li>\n<li>Elisa Romano &#8211; CNI<\/li>\n<li>F\u00e1bio Gandour &#8211; IBM Brasil<\/li>\n<li>Jair Kotz \u2013 Itaipu Binacional<\/li>\n<li>Leide Takahashi \u2013 Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Grupo Botic\u00e1rio de Prote\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 Natureza<\/li>\n<li>Luciano Verdade &#8211; Fapesp<\/li>\n<li>Miguel Milano &#8211; Instituto LIFE<\/li>\n<li>Mauro Rebelo \u2013 Bio Bureau<\/li>\n<li>Nelson Pereira dos Reis &#8211; FIESP<\/li>\n<li>Rafael Marques \u2013 Minist\u00e9rio do Meio Ambiente<\/li>\n<li>Rubens Rizek \u2013 Secretaria de Agricultura e Abastecimento do Governo de S\u00e3o Paulo<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Al\u00e9m desses importantes nomes, o evento contou com a presen\u00e7a do Secret\u00e1rio-executivo da Conven\u00e7\u00e3o das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas sobre Diversidade Biol\u00f3gica (CBD) \u2013 <strong>Sr. Br\u00e1ulio Dias.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Na sua apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o o Sr. Br\u00e1ulio Dias destacou a import\u00e2ncia da Certifica\u00e7\u00e3o LIFE para integrar o setor produtivo na conserva\u00e7\u00e3o da biodiversidade visto que o LIFE permite \u00e0s organiza\u00e7\u00f5es melhorarem suas pr\u00e1ticas ambientais e serem avaliadas por uma metodologia reconhecida por sua excel\u00eancia. Foi tamb\u00e9m destacado durante a apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o do Secret\u00e1rio o alinhamento da Metodologia com as mais recentes decis\u00f5es da CBD sobre o setor neg\u00f3cios.<\/p>\n<p>Ao final do evento ocorreu o lan\u00e7amento da exposi\u00e7\u00e3o de fotos do Segundo Concurso de Imagens Microsc\u00f3picas em Ci\u00eancias da Vida do Instituto de Ci\u00eancias Biom\u00e9dicas (ICB) da USP e Workshop on Business and Biodiversity was organized by LIFE Institute in partnership with FIESP \u2013 Federation of the Industries of the State of S\u00e3o Paulo on June 10<sup>th<\/sup> \u00a0in S\u00e3o Paulo.\u00a0 The event \u2013 sponsored by Votorantim and CNI \u2013 Brazil National Confederation of Industry \u2013 was one of the activities of the 17<sup>th<\/sup> \u00a0Environment Week organized by FIESP from June 09th to June 12th.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop gathered leaders from the private sector, government, academia and non-governmental organizations to debate and share experiences about the strategies adopted to fight climate change, to conserve ecosystem services, to promote the sustainability agenda and the maintenance of natural capital.<\/p>\n<p>The event had renowned S\u00e3o Paulo State Secretary for Agriculture<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Besides these speakers, <strong>Mr. Braulio Dias<\/strong> \u2013 Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity made a keynote presentation.<\/p>\n<p>During his presentation Mr. Dias highlighted that LIFE Certification is a tool for businesses to improve their environmental practices and to have their performance evaluated by a highly recognized Methodology. \u00a0Mr. Dias has also stated that LIFE Methodology is in line with the recent decisions taken by the CBD with respect to business engagement.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the event was launched the photo exhibition: <em>The Second Life Science Microscope Image Contest<\/em> promoted by the Biomedical Sciences Institute \u2013 University of S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 USP and Carl Zeiss.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6891\"
