O Instituto LIFE foi convidado para participar ao lado de outros representantes da sociedade civil, e representantes do Governo, academia, iniciativa privada e povos e comunidades tradicionais das oficinas promovidas pelo Projeto Painel Brasileiro de Biodiversidade (PainelBio).<\/p>\n
As oficinas tiveram como objetivo discutir e propor indicadores a fim de avaliar as 20 metas nacionais de biodiversidade que foram constru\u00eddas com base nas Metas de Aichi inscritas na Conven\u00e7\u00e3o das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas sobre Diversidade Biol\u00f3gica.<\/p>\n
De acordo com L\u00eddio Coradin – Gerente do Departamento de Conserva\u00e7\u00e3o da Biodiversidade do Minist\u00e9rio do Meio Ambiente – em mat\u00e9ria publicada no site do MMA, \u201co objetivo do governo brasileiro \u00e9 ter essas metas todas implementadas at\u00e9 2020, da\u00ed a necessidade de estabelecermos esses indicadores\u201d.<\/p>\n
Os indicadores propostos nas oficinas ser\u00e3o encaminhados \u00e0 avalia\u00e7\u00e3o da Comiss\u00e3o Nacional de Biodiversidade (Conabio).LIFE Institute was invited to join the workshops organized by the Project \u201cBrazilian Panel for Biodiversity\u201d (Panel Bio) alongside other representatives from civil society organizations, government, academia, businesses and indigenous people and local community.<\/p>\n
The workshops main goals were to debate and propose indicators to assess the 20 national biodiversity targets that were built based on the Aichi Targets from the United Nations Convention for Biological Diversity.<\/p>\n
According to Lidio Coradin \u2013 Manager of the Biodiversity Conservation Department of the Brazilian Ministry of the Environment \u2013 as stated on the Ministry website \u201c the Brazilian government goal is to implement all the targets by 2020 that\u2019s why the need to define these indicators\u201d.<\/p>\n
The indicators proposed by the workshops participants will be ultimately evaluated by the Brazilian National Biodiversity Commission (Conabio).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
